The name COMMON COLD comes into use in the 16th century due its very peculiar similarity in symptoms with symptoms of exposure to cold weather. It is also known as viral upper respiratory tract infection, acute viral nasophyrangitis, acute viral rhinopharyngitis, acute coryza or simply a cold. It is the most commoncontagious disease of the human and it has as such no cure though it is usually self limiting and never fatal . It is often misunderstood as influenza due to similarity in symptoms though influenza is presented with fever and the intensity of suffering is much severe. But the common home management like keeping worm, rest and plenty of worm water etc is fortunately same for both influenza and common cold.
